Tourists’ visits normally don’t take long and Dubai has provisions for this. There are several Dubai tourist visas available to you, and what you intend to do or how much time you intend to spend in Dubai or anywhere in the UAE would determine which one you should take. That notwithstanding, the country you are a citizen of would determine how you would apply for a Dubai travel visa.
The UAE allows that citizens of certain countries (listed below) get Dubai visas on arrival. That is, you don’t have to apply for and get a visa before leaving your country if you were a citizen of one of the given countries.
You can’t apply for Dubai tourist visa in person. A sponsor must do this for you. This sponsor can be a hotel, a tourist company or operator, an airline, an airline handler, any other organisation or a UAE resident. This is because they are needed to be responsible for you and to represent you, when required, while you are in Dubai or in the UAE at large.

The cost of a UAE/Dubai tourist visa and how long it’d take to obtain depends on the particular visa you’d be going for. Contact the UAE’s Amer Service at 800 5111 for specific information. A fee, called noqodi service fee, is applied to every paid transaction. This includes your visa.
If you are a domestic worker on a tourist visa, your employer should sponsor you by applying for a maid visa for you via a MOHRE’s approved operator such as TADBEER Service Center in Dubai. MOHRE stands for Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. It shouldn’t be glossed over that it’s illegal to work in the UAE on a travel visa and that this is punishable by a fine and/or a jail term for both the culprit and their employer.
It is mandatory that your original passport (not a travel document), should not get expired within 6 months from the expected date of arrival in Dubai other parts of the UAE. Generally, if you were on a Dubai “Visit Visa” which includes the tourist visa (this is stated under types of visas below), then you are not allowed to work during your stay Dubai or anywhere in the UAE, but you are allowed to sponsor a domestic cook.
A hotel can apply for any of the foregoing Dubai visa variety for you. An individual, subject to guidelines, could also apply for a Visit Visa which lasts for 30 days and could be extended by a 30-day length. If you have a connection with an organization anywhere in the UAE, they could to apply for a Visit Visa or a Service Visa (or Dubai working visa) for you.
If you’re getting a visa through a hotel, you’d have to make a reservation with them. A wise step could be your choosing a hotel and making a reservation with them before setting out of your country. That hotel would then bear the brunt of getting you a visa according to what you’d want.
Note. An airline may also apply for a visa on visitors behalf but this is usually for the members of their crew. The type of visa available to airlines is a 96-hour Transit Visa.
Citizens of countries not allowed visas upon arrival have to apply for one of the several types of visas that are issued, at their nearest UAE Embassy, airlines, agencies, hotels or perhaps according to U.ae you can apply for a Dubai visa online. You can also apply at the website of GDRFA – Dubai.
There are a couple of Dubai visa types. Below are some.
A 30-Day Tourist Visa, which can be extended to 40 days.
A 14-Day Service Visa, Or
A 30-Day Visit Visa which can be extended by 30 days
Remember you need a sponsor to apply for a Dubai travel visa in your lieu.
If you’re from any of the following countries, then you can obtain a Dubai visa upon arrival in Dubai anywhere in the UAE but remember, to reiterate, this is done only through a sponsor. What a sponsor is has already been explained earlier on.
The GCC countries include Bahrain, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

First you’d like to know Dubai’s do’s and don’ts which if flouted can land one in jail. The UAE authorities consider some prescribed and over the counter medicines as controlled substances and, thus, do not allow such to be brought into the country without prior permission from the UAE Ministry of Health.
